I recently tested a sweet potato chip here at work by a company called Food Should Taste Good. Not only do I agree with them, I think they should take their own advice. The chip was bland BUT… it was shaped like a Tato Skin!

My memories came calling. Then I remembered O’Boises. Clever name. I asked Rob if he remembered them to which he responded without pause: “Yes, they’re O’Boisterous.” Culture is nothing without shared histories, people.

“A section of a protective wall surrounding the Meadowlands Xanadu snow dome buckled Thursday afternoon, causing a temporary closure of a service road near the Izod Center parking lot. Workers removed accumulated snow and ice from near the bottom of the snow dome that appeared to have slid down from the elevated part of the structure.”

Snow and ice buildup causes problems on the exterior of a huge-ass building meant to house an indoor 800-foot ski slope that’s already suffering financial problems and severe delays? If that’s not irony then I’ll just sit back and enjoy this delicious cup of hot, steaming schadenfreude.

Good luck to Rob Neyer who is leaving the SweetSpot Blog at ESPN:

Whether you’ve been reading my ramblings since 1996 or just since last week, you have my profound, impossible-to-express-in-words gratitude. There is not a working writer on Earth who’s more grateful than I for his readers. Without you, I would have nothing.

Today, I hand off this space to whoever’s next. I don’t know yet who is next, but I’m highly confident that this blog and the SweetSpot Network will soon be in excellent hands.

Meanwhile, I’ll be around. The kids tell me it’s all about search these days. You won’t have to search real hard to find me, if you want.

Happy trails, until we meet again.

Several people thought it odd that Neyer and I both had big departures announced today, just a few hours apart. That’d be like Melvin Mora holding a presser to announce his retirement only to have Alex Rodriguez going live on TV to announce his retirement two hours later.
